As evidenced by the efforts of their newly-traded-for No. 28 pick, that hunt for excellence certainly appears to be a mutual one. Entrusted with could-be make-or-break minutes during a tightly-contested third quarter, Ryan Dunn rewards the Suns’ faith immediately, hustling back in defensive transition amidst favorable three-on-two odds. Soaring in unnoticed after his teammate forces enough of an adjustment on Kevin Porter Jr.’s layup, Dunn swats the attempt away vigorously, all the while tracking down his own rebound. Defying some pre-Draft concerns, Dunn — looking every bit the part of a potential 3-and-D specialist over his first month — recorded a two-point, two-rebound, one-assist, one-block debut on October 23, 2024. Every play, particularly given the three-point, overtime result, proved crucial in helping Phoenix overcome the L.A. Clippers for a season-opening win.
