Deandre Ayton

Even as a rookie, Deandre Ayton’s pick-and-roll game was smooth and powerful. The first overall pick in the 2018 NBA Draft gave the Dallas Mavericks an early preview of his burgeoning game as he worked with Phoenix Suns teammate Jamal Crawford to set up the halfcourt offense. Ayton set a pick up top before breaking toward the basket, catching a pass from Crawford and hitting DeAndre Jordan with a slick spin move and dunk. Ayton tallied seven points, five rebounds and two steals in his squad’s 99-89 win on December 13, 2018 and would later be named to the All-Rookie First Team after averaging 16.3 points and 10.3 rebounds per game while shooting 58.5 percent from the field.
