Tre Mann

Sometimes described as a “throwback,” given his preference to the 2000s-esque baggy jersey and headband aesthetic, Tre Mann, on October 23, 2024, had a different, yet similar word, as his team entered comeback mode: snatchback. Unwilling to let the Charlotte Hornets fret neither the once-imposing 18-point deficit, nor the early-game injury to their second-year star, Mann, arguably, leaves the Houston Rockets in an even worse situation upon crossing midcourt. Working a pass-and-receive-back maneuver with a teammate, Mann — now with a head of steam — nearly disorients Jalen Green through a lightning-quick pump of the brakes and a between-the-leg snatchback before burying a game-tying triple with three-and-a-half to play. One of the NBA’s marquee standouts during the preseason exhibitions, the always-talented Mann parlayed that momentum into a brilliant open, becoming an off-the-bench 20-point scorer over the season’s first five games. In the comeback victory over Houston, Mann produced an eye-opening 24 points (on 8-of-16 shooting), alongside six rebounds, one assist, and four 3-pointers.
