With the finish line for 2024-25’s Rookie of the Year race close enough to metaphorically touch, it only made sense for the league’s No. 1 pick — and its top-ranked fastbreak scorer among newcomers — to make one lasting sprint. Joined alongside the perfectly-nicknamed “Great Barrier Thief” in transition, Risacher plays the role of getaway driver, filling the lane to position the Atlanta Hawks for a two-on-one, should a move be made promptly enough. Nearly eye-level with the rim by the apex of his jump, Risacher secures a must-see highlight, jamming in a one-handed alley-oop to catapult Atlanta’s lead to nearly double-figures in the third quarter. A high-soaring Hall of Famer from both the Hawks and Nets’ franchise past called March 16, 2025’s game, and in fitting tribute, Atlanta used 30 transition points to routinely produce aerial attacks around the rim.
